The Band

Originally a 7 piece band hailing from the Guildford area, the band consisted of Robin Greene on vocals and keys, Jack Cryer on vocals, Steve Noyce on lead guitar and backing vocals, PD on Bass, Guy Cresswell on Guitar and Keys, Mark Pardy on Drums and Nick on Sax.

This line up was very popular on the London club circuit from the mid 80‘s onwards and built up a strong and loyal following, after a couple of personnel changes the band dropped to a core 5 piece of Rob, Steve, Jack, PD and Guy and supplemented the live sound with Dave Stockly on drums and Nigel and Matt on trumpet and sax, this is the line up that went on twice to sell out the legendary Ronnie Scotts Club in London.

The band had been courted by several record companies over the years but never got past the singles deal stage and so after our last gig at Ronnie Scotts we decided to split into separate units and look to further our careers this way.

Rob and Guy formed ‘Ton of Joy’ with the help of Jack on vocals and Matt on sax and performed on Channel Four’s ‘The Happening’ with Jooles Holland and Midget Ure, they also worked on and completed an album, as yet unreleased.

Steve recorded a solo album in Guys studio with the help of Jack on vocals and then Jack and Steve went on to form a successful song writing and performing duo, they were a big feature on the acoustic scene and were signed to Longman records where they released a fantastic album called ‘The way I feel’ to critical acclaim.

The band had some great times playing together and have kept in touch with each other through the years, they wrote and recorded a lot of original, unreleased material and are thrilled that there is still so much interest in the band.

Thank you all for your support
